Over the past 3 years my SO and I have shall we say, dabbled in the Calgary Swingers scene. It started out as just a curiosity, wanting to take part in the scene. Fast forward a few years and we have decided to allow each other some NSA (no strings attached) fun on the side.
This is not to say we haven’t had some rough patches, in fact I am going to be honest, I think we have had more than any other swinging couple out there. lol
Our issues stemmed largely from not being able to properly communicate with each other. My style is to over explain everything to the point it sounds like I am badgering my SO. Yikes! And my SO does not communicate at all unless he is forced to do so which often means the silent treatment. So you see, very different styles of communicating has definitely impacted our ability to do this openly and lovingly.
But to do this effectively, we both need to communicate in a healthy way and that has become abundantly clear.
So i am going to share some of the stories of our swinging escapades. I won’ t use real names, but more what it feels to be a woman in the world of non monogamy.
